Monday

Monday was definitely our busiest day so far! In the morning, we drove up the road to Bland Elementary School, where we each volunteered in a different classroom. Afterwards, we drove a little further up the road to ABB, a major company in Bland that produces large-scale power transformers. They showed us around their factory and provided us with complimentary lunch before we headed out for our afternoon service at the Kissito Nursing Home. We got to play Bingo with some of the residents! Later we met with the Bland County Administrator, Eric Workman, who discussed issues facing the county, especially in the economic sphere. We had lots to reflect on after our dinner back at the ministry center.
